Intersecting Identities: Faith, Gender, Sexuality – March 5

Join us for a dinner conversation about supporting the spiritual lives of LGBTQIA students. Free pizza and salad. All are welcome.

March 5 at 5:15pm, McBride Gathering Space, Numen Lumen Pavilion
Join us for a presentation and conversation about the complexity of intersecting identities – including the challenges and joys of intersecting spiritual and lesbian/gay identities.

This conversation will challenge many assumptions about what it means to be “Christian” and what it means to be “gay” or “lesbian” or “queer” – while also providing guidance on ways to better support the spiritual lives of LGBTQIA persons.

The event will take place Thursday, March 5, at 5:15 p.m. in McBride Gathering Space, Numen Lumen Pavilion. There will be pizza and salad. All are weclome. The event is sponsored by the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life.

Joining us in conversation:

  • Timothy Kane – Associate Director of Inclusive Initiatives and Coordinator of the LGBTQ Resource Center at George Washington University.
  • Rev. Jocelyn (JC) Cadwallader – Associate Minister of Western Presbyterian Church, a welcoming and affirming congregation in D.C.
  • Rev. Dr. Jan Fuller – University Chaplain
