The Elon Club Baseball team faced off this weekend against the Loyola Hounds of Maryland.
Both teams enjoyed the special opportunity to play on the Elon varsity field, Latham Park. Elon won the series, winning two out of three games, despite not being able to practice on a field for the last few weeks. Sam Bonifant was the winning pitcher in game one with Will Flood getting the win out of the bullpen in the last game of the series. Other highlights from the weekend include Casey Gaynor hitting the team’s first home run of the season as well as a total of three triples in the series from the Phoenix. Elon looks to capitalize on their momentum and add three more wins to their resume as they take on UNC-Charlotte in a three-game series.
