Brooke Buffington to support business students’ professional development

As the new associate director of career services for the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, Buffington will guide students in their career exploration process.

Brooke Buffington joins Elon as the associate director of career services in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.

In this role, Buffington will assist students with identifying and exploring possible career fields, as well as provide guidance for creating quality resumes and cover letters. She will also develop career-related programs and workshops to best meet the needs of Love School of Business students.

Buffington is available to meet with students regarding the following:

  • Internship search strategies
  • Interview preparation/mock interviews
  • Job search strategies
  • Networking
  • Self-exploration/assessments
  • Professional etiquette/do’s and don’ts of the job search

Buffington has more than eight years of higher education experience in career development, counseling, teaching and advising roles. She previously worked at Clemson University as the associate director of athletic academic services and assistant director of career development, and completed a graduate counselor internship at Wake Forest University.

Buffington earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in community counseling from Wake Forest University. She is a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina.
