Elon Law alumnus Mital Patel recognized as a 2015 Leader in the Law    

Elon Law alumnus Mital Patel L’09 was recognized by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly as a 2015 “Leader in the Law” at a Sept. 25 luncheon in Charlotte, NC before an audience of leading lawyers from across the state.

Patel is an attorney with Wyrick Robbins Yates & Ponton LLP law firm, with a practice focusing on technology and corporate transactions, including venture capital financings, mergers & acquisitions, intellectual property protection and licensing, and general corporate matters.

In presenting Patel with the Leader in the Law Award, North Carolina Lawyers Weekly cited his leadership as an advisory board member with both Elon University’s Doherty Center of Entrepreneurial Leadership and the Raleigh Public Record, his role as a founding trustee of the Awesome Foundation, which funds “awesome” projects through micro-grants, and his lead role in organizing Triangle Startup Weekend and N.C. Datapalooza.

Patel received Elon Law’s inaugural Young Alumni Award in 2014, in recognition of his instrumental role in cultivating the entrepreneurial ecosystem in North Carolina. In 2013, Patel presented on entrepreneurial cultivation in North Carolina to senior federal officials at the White House, participated in an entrepreneurship conference in Rio de Janeiro and was given the opportunity to ring the NASDAQ bell.
