Men's Club Soccer takes down three opponents to clinch second-straight regional berth

Elon outscored High Point 3-2 on October 14, giving the men's team enough momentum to defeat Davidson 4-0 on four days later. Their latest game on Oct. 25 against Wake Forest was won 8-1. This was an important win because it clinched Elon a regional berth for the second straight year.

Elon Men’s Club Soccer team has had a busy two weeks playing a total of three games. The first game was on October 14 against High Point. This was a hard fought game but in the end junior Harris Tolber scored on a free kick with 10 minutes remaining to secure the 2-1 win.

A few days later Elon took on Davidson hoping to continue its comeback streak. Ryan Keeney and Ryan Ahrens each netted a goal. Senior Carlos Salas scored two goals to give Elon a 4-0 victory.

The last game played was against Wake forest and this was the most important. Elon had to win this game in order to get a regional bid. Knowing this, Elon came out firing scoring early in the game. Goalkeeper Andrew Lydecker scored his first goal ever on a penalty kick. Other contributors include Konner Kendall and Nate Cohen scoring their first goals as well.

In the end the final score was 8-1 and Elon clinched a spot at regionals.
