The team consisted of Cash Armstrong, a senior finance major, Matthew Davis, a senior accounting major, Sarah Hoppe, a senior marketing major, and Andrew Lilley, a sophomore finance and accounting double major. Patrick Bell, lecturer in management, coached and accompanied the team to Washington, D.C.

The McDonough-Hilltop Business Strategy Challenge is an invitation-only, non-profit case consulting competition hosted by the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. Twenty teams were invited to participate in the weekend-long competition. Teams were tasked with developing and presenting unique and sustainable solutions to a nonprofit organization’s problem.

“The McDonough-Hilltop Business Strategy Challenge was a great practical and engaging experience that taught me invaluable details about challenges faced by non-profit organizations today,” Davis said.

“It was simply a fantastic experience, where our team had the opportunity to interact with – and learn from – some of the finest young business minds in the world,” Bell added.

The University of Alberta was named the MHBSC winner.
