Assistant professor of chemistry Jen Dabrowski was invited to present her experiences as a women scientist at the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) meeting at UNC Chapel Hill on March 14, 2016. Dr. Dabrowski shared her experiences, including the obstacles and rewards of being a women in STEM and encouraged members to actively seek mentors and ask questions. “The single most valuable advice I can give is to keep asking questions. Not only will it help you in your path, but it can serve to challenge others to reflect and make changes to promote a more inclusive STEM environment.” Additional topics included negotiating, networking, and support resources.
