Matthew Groves L’11 and Karima Grady L’13 will serve three-year terms as chapter chair and vice chair, respectively, endeavoring to connect and reconnect alumni from all regions of the D.C. metro area.

Groves is currently employed in Washington as counsel/national security advisor for the U.S. House of Representatives and Grady is currently employed in Maryland as a staff attorney with the Child in Need of Assistance (CINA) Division of the Maryland Legal Aid Bureau.

At the launch event, remarks were offered from Elon Law Dean Luke Bierman, Elon Law Assistant Dean for Development LaDaniel Gatling II, Elon Law Board of Advisors Member Ronny Lancaster and Elon Law Alumni Director Gwendolyn Lewis L’13.

“With the launch of our first alumni chapter, the Elon Law Alumni Association, has achieved a great milestone,” Lewis said. “This chapter will serve as a model to other chapters and as the primary ambassadors for Elon Law throughout the D.C. Metro area. Our alumni are partners, advocates and investors and this momentous occasion will be yet another method by which our alumni can unite with their alum mater and contribute to its ongoing success. ”
