The Watson Analytics Hands-On Workshop is a live event running on campus designed to introduce you to the revolutionary approach to analytics that is smart data discovery. Sponsored by Elon’s Center for Organizational Analytics, the workshop is open to all students and faculty.
This is your opportunity to learn from Watson Analytics experts how you and your students can benefit from guided exploration, automated predictive analysis, and effortless dashboard creation. We will work hands-on with the software and discover the power of collaborative analysis combining data from Twitter, Cognos Enterprise Reporting systems, standard relational databases and cloud data storage sources. The goal of this workshop is to begin to enable you to teach Watson Analytics in the classroom. Attendees will be given complimentary academic licenses of IBM® Watson™ Analytics.

- Data preparation, refinement, management and analysis are automated and available from the cloud so you can easily work with your data and trust the results.
- Automated intelligence enables you to draw conclusions based on what’s happened in your business and why.
- Visualizations that best show what’s important can create clear and compelling infographics to support your decisions and effectively communicate with others.
- Statistical analysis, correlations and predictions help you see what’s likely to happen and what you can do about it.
