Screening of George Gershwin's opera, Porgy and Bess, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on each day in Room 013 of McEwen Hall.
The Music Department will host a screening of George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” in McEwen Hall, Room 013, on Jan. 10 and 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
On both days, there will be a short lecture given by a music faculty member:
- Cora S. Palfy will be discussing the biography of George Gershwin, the conception of the opera and musical features on Jan. 10.
- Fred Johnson will be discussing recording techniques for live stage performance on Jan. 17.
