Elon Music alumna to perform with the Fire of the Carolinas Nov. 4

Jessika Brust '08 will perform with Elon's marching band during Homecoming Weekend.

Jessika Brust ’08 will be performing with Elon’s Fire of the Carolinas marching band during Homecoming 2017.

Brust is currently sailing around the world as a guest entertainer, and playing in performance venues around the U.S. as well as performing shows that she has written, arranged and produced herself as a vocalist/violinist/fiddle player. She is working on recording her first full-length album with her new-age, original music project with Andre DiMuzio called The Hourglass, and is preparing to record a jazz album of her own arrangments called “Nice Work.”

Brust enjoys performing in the occasional music theater show and for other local bands and music ensembles. She also teaches private Suzuki violin and viola as well as voice lessons.

Brust has been well received by the critics. Vicki Hogan with The Sanford Herald wrote: … such great vocals … the kind of voice that bounces off the back wall. Roy C. Dicks wrote for The News & Observer: “Jessika Brust leads the impressive cast, her strong voice and finely shaded acting making Diana an extremely vulnerable and sympathetic character.”

Brust will be singing and fiddling with the Fire of the Carolinas during the half-time show at this year’s homecoming game at Rhodes Stadium on Nov. 4.
