The School of Education welcomed two new faculty members and one new staff member for the 2017-18 academic year.
The School of Education welcomed one new staff member in July 2017 and two new faculty members in August 2017.
“We are delighted to welcome our new colleagues to the School of Education,” said Ann Bullock, dean of the School of Education. “Their experiences in school and community-based work in education and wellness, scholarly activities, and records of teaching excellence will be of great benefit to our students.”
Anne Roycroft – Director of Accreditation
Roycroft earned a bachelor’s in American studies and master’s degree in education, counseling at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a doctorate in education at the University of West Georgia. Roycroft will work in the areas of assessment, accreditation and curriculum design. She joins Elon from Fuel Education & Florida Virtual School where she was senior manager of products and services and a curriculum specialist. Roycroft also serves as a lead CAEP reviewer.
Katherine Baker – Assistant Professor
Baker earned a bachelor’s from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a master’s and doctorate from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She joins us from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was an instructor and supervisor; Formally, Baker taught in Orange County Schools. Her scholarly Interests include elementary mathematics education and preservice teacher preparation.
Abby Ampuja – Instructor
Ampuja earned a bachelor’s from Mount Holyoke College and master’s in education from N.C. State University and is a doctoral student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She joins us from being a full-time graduate student and instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Formally, Ampuja taught in public schools for over 10 years. Her scholarly Intrests include educational resilience, social emotional learning, growth mindset, special education and writing for students with disabilities.
