National Weather Service snowfall forecast map

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the Elon area through 10 a.m. Sunday. Refreezing of residual snow, slush and water is expected as skies clear late this evening. This will result in patches of ice on roads, creating a travel hazard through Sunday morning. Area bridges, overpasses, parking lots and sidewalks will be most prone for icing. Elon’s physical plant staff have worked to clear sidewalks and apply deicer and will continue to monitor the campus. Please exercise caution when walking or driving, as slippery spots may remain in some areas.

This winter weather is a good reminder to sign up for the university systems that provide text and email notifications to members of the Elon community:

  • Continue to check the E-net website for regular updates: www.elon.edu/e-net
  • Sign-up for E-Alert, Elon’s emergency text message system, at www.elon.edu/e-alert to ensure you will receive text and email updates. If you previously signed up for E-Alert, it is important to verify that your registration is current and updated.
  • Download Live Safe, Elon’s Campus Safety and Police app for mobile phones. You can send messages to their office from any location, and also receive push notifications for updates on campus conditions. To register for LiveSafe:
