WFMY profiles President Book as part of 'Women of the Triad' series

The series highlighting the contributions of these leaders in the region explored President Connie Ledoux Book's career in higher education and path to becoming Elon University's ninth president. 

Connie Ledoux Book recently had the opportunity to share about her path to becoming Elon University’s ninth president in the new series, WFMY News 2 presents Women of the Triad.

The series offers an in-depth look into the lives and careers of women leaders in the community. Book talked about how higher education changed the lives of her family members as she was growing up and influenced her to become a professor. She shared what she learned during the past three years as she served as the first female provost at The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.

“I felt myself learning a whole new skill set and navigating a different culture,” Book told WFMY. “When the opportunity came to sit at the head of the table at Elon, … it was the desire to provide the highest level of service at the highest level of a unit.”
