Elon alumni lighting the way with gratitude and generosity this holiday season

Elon will honor alumni and senior class donors at the Festival of Holiday Lights on Dec. 4.

As we enter the traditional season of giving and gratitude, members of the Elon community are thankful for the opportunities that an Elon education provides. For many, these opportunities would not be available without the alumni and students who give back.

On Dec. 4, one of Elon’s most beloved traditions will take place: The Festival of Holiday Lights. For the fifth year, Elon will honor its generous alumni and senior student donors from the current fiscal year (since June 1) by placing their names on the luminarias that light up the campus. More than just a beautiful display of holiday warmth, the lights symbolize more than 3,000 alumni and seniors who chose to pay it forward. Festive music and hot chocolate will also be available as you take in the beauty of generosity that illuminates the campus.

Join in the festivities and make a gift to become an Elon Luminary. The last day to give and be recognized is Tuesday, Nov. 27, which also marks Giving Tuesday, a global day of philanthropy. On that day, you are invited to share your support for Elon by posting a picture on social media with this sign and meaningful caption that includes #ElonLuminary and #GivingTuesday.

Visit this website to learn more about how you can be part of this annual tradition and get involved on #GivingTuesday and be sure to make a gift to any designation or fund at Elon to be honored as a luminary. To make a gift over the phone, call 336-278-7444.
