Brandon Sheridan teaches graduate course at University Cattolicà del Sacro Cuore

The assistant professor of economics was a visiting professor at the Elon Business Dual Degree partner school it Italy during fall 2018.

Brandon Sheridan, assistant professor of economics in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, served as a visiting professor in the M.Sc. in Global Business Management program at the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, Italy.

Sheridan taught the course Economic Scenarios, covering topics ranging from macroeconomic essentials, such as GDP, inflation and the labor market, to more specialized topics, such as central banking, fiscal policy and the euro.

“From a teaching perspective, it was a great learning experience,” Sheridan said. “Given that English is the second language for most of the students, I had to think more clearly about the topics and how best to teach them.

“It was also a culturally enriching experience for me personally, as I learned to navigate an unfamiliar country and language. I look forward to returning at some point in the future.”

The University Cattolicà del Sacro Cuore is a partner school for Elon’s Business Dual Degree program.
