“It was so great to re-connect with old friends from my LSU days, and meet some new friends as well,” Futrell says. “We had the opportunity to collaborate with LSU Voice Professor Sandra Moon on a piece I had arranged. What an incredible talent. Elon audiences can look forward to Professor Moon performing at Elon in the near future. The singers were well prepared and performed an amazing concert.”

Futrell worked with 160 high school students during two days of rehearsals culminating with a standing-room-only concert on Saturday.

While at the conference, Futrell presented a reading session for choral directors featuring selections from the Fred Bock Music catalog. The LA Jazz Educators also invited Futrell to work with the vocalist for the LA All-State Jazz Ensemble.
