Class of 2020: A look at year one

Revisit the class of 2020's first year on campus through an online photo gallery.

Day one for Elon’s class of 2020 was a 90-degree Friday morning — Aug. 26, 2016, to be exact.

At 8 a.m. sharp, approximately 1,550 new students and their families began to arrive on Elon’s campus in cars stuffed with everything a first-year student might need (and a lot more): rugs, bedding, vacuums, suitcases, organizers, bean bag chairs, desk lamps, snacks, cases of bottled water. By midday, students were largely settled into their new homes, and their Elon experience had officially begun.

University Communications documented the class beginning on that sweaty August day, and we’ve compiled a slideshow of images from events during their first academic year, 2016-17. The Flickr gallery includes events like New Student Convocation, Org Fair, the 2016 Festival of Holiday Lights and the class’s first snow in January 2017. Follow the link below to revisit the year it all began.

Congratulations, Class of 2020 – just look how far you’ve come!
