Elon will kick off the season on Sept. 4 at Wofford College.
Elon Athletics on Wednesday announced kickoff times and attendance policies for the fall 2021 football season.
Head Coach Tony Trisciani returns for his third year leading the maroon and gold in 2021. He has 20 starters set to return from the spring season, including all 11 on offense.
“Everyone in our program is excited for the 2021 fall football season and the opportunity to have our loyal fans back in the stadium for our five home games,” Trisciani said. “We have a talented nucleus returning, and we want to use the experiences from our abbreviated spring campaign to push the program forward this fall.”
Kick-off for all Elon games at Rhodes Stadium for the 2021 season will be at 2 p.m.
Elon will not leave the state of North Carolina until October as the Phoenix opens the fall season at home Sept. 4 in non-conference action against Wofford College. Elon then heads to Buies Creek, N.C., to face Campbell University a week later at 6 p.m. on Sept. 11 and will close non-conference play at FBS Appalachian State University on Sept. 18 at 3:30 p.m.
The Phoenix closes out September by opening conference play at home by hosting William & Mary for Family Weekend on Sept. 25. After games at the University of Richmond (Oct. 2, 2 p.m.) and at the University of Maine (Oct. 9, noon), Elon has a bye week before hosting the University of New Hampshire on Oct. 23.
A game at James Madison University follows at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30 before the Phoenix hosts Villanova University on Nov. 6 for Homecoming Weekend. Elon then plays at Towson University on Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. before closing out the season at home on Nov. 20 against the University of Rhode Island.
Health and Safety Protocols
Elon will maintain numerous health and safety protocols during the 2021 football season to make attendance safe for patrons. Fans at Rhodes Stadium will enter via a digital/touchless ticketing process and safety protocols will include structured line spacing, enhanced cleaning, sanitation stations throughout the stadium and the reopening of Phoenix Hill to allow for greater spectator spacing.
All guests must adhere to the appropriate masking requirements specific to their vaccination status at the time of the game. More information will be shared in the weekly game day guidelines this fall.
Ticket Information
Elon Football season tickets will go on sale Monday, June 21. Season ticket holders from the 2019 season will be able to hold their seats for the upcoming fall campaign. More information will be made available over the next two weeks on ElonPhoenix.com.
