Katy Rouse wins Excellence in Refereeing award

The associate professor of economics received the honor from the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management.

Katy Rouse, associate professor of economics in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, is a 2021 recipient of the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management’s Excellence in Refereeing award.

The annual award honors three individuals for their contribution in providing the journal with timely, constructive and insightful refereeing service over the past publication year.

The journal encompasses issues and practices in policy analysis and public management and its contributors include economists, public managers and operations researchers.

Rouse joined Elon in 2009. She is an applied microeconomist with scholarship interests in the economics of education and health economics. She has authored several articles on the effects of schools switching from traditional to multi-track year-round calendars, which has attracted attention from a wide range of media outlets, including The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Wall Street Journal and WUNC North Carolina Public Radio.
