Group of Elon students involved in creating local food guide featured in Burlington Times-News

The creation of The Burlington Restaurant Guide by eight Elon students and the general manager of Burlington Beer Works was featured in a recent Times-News article.

A partnership between a group of eight Elon entrepreneurship students and Tracy Schmidt, general manager of Burlington Beer Works, to create the Burlington Restaurant Guide was featured in a recent article from the Burlington Times-News.

One of the eight students, William Archer ’22 told reporter Elizabeth Pattman, “This is a senior project through Elon’s entrepreneurship program. Tracy, who works at Burlington Beer Works, reached out to our teacher and created this little project to (highlight) local restaurants in downtown Burlington and then it just evolved from there.”

The Burlington Restaurant Guide currently features 21 restaurants and the resource aims to “raise awareness about locally-owned dining options and make it easier for diners to support small local businesses.”

“For years Burlington has had countless amazing local restaurants providing top of the line food and ambiance, and now it’s our job to create awareness and accessibility for the community,” the Burlington Restaurant Guide website states.
