Elon Volunteers! is hosting our monthly Institute for Civic and Community Engagement on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in McKinnon Hall E.

Each month is framed by one of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and features a speaker from the community or campus on the topic. For October’s Institute we are focusing on goal 11, “Sustainable Cities and Communities.” Jessica Merricks, assistant professor of biology at Elon and co-founder of Clean Haw River, will present on local efforts surrounding clean water. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about sustainability in both a global and local context.

During this monthly gathering, Elon Volunteers! will help connect leaders and volunteers to each other and offer some professional development opportunities as well.

There will be food and a raffle for a $25 Irazu gift card and $25 Oak House gift card.

Please RSVP https://givepul.se/053hku if you are available and interested in attending. Email nmcginty@elon.edu with any questions!
