Jason Husser, assistant provost for academic excellence and integrity, director of the Elon Poll and professor of political science and public policy spoke with Greensboro, North Carolina's CBS affiliate about the power of executive orders.
An Elon professor of political science and public policy offered his expertise to WFMY News 2 for an interview about President Donald Trump’s executive orders.
The article and television story, “Trump’s executive orders: What they mean for his campaign promises,” featured remarks from Jason Husser, assistant provost for academic excellence and integrity, director of the Elon Poll and professor of political science and public policy.
From the WFMY article on Jan. 22, 2025:
“Executive orders are very powerful because the laws passed by Congress don’t have details on every potential interpretation of the laws,” Husser said. “President Trump we’re seeing right now is using executive orders in both a political way to be able to tell his supporters, the people who elected him that, hey, I’m doing the things that you want done, but he’s also doing it because he wants them done.”
Husser researches American political behavior and survey methodology. From 2012 to 2016, he served as assistant director of the Elon Poll and became director of the Elon Poll in 2016.
