Elon to open at 10 a.m. Monday on main campus, 3 p.m. at Elon Law School

Due to continued icy roads and the aftermath of the weekend snowstorm, Elon University will operate on a delayed opening schedule on Monday, Feb. 1. Offices on the main campus will open at 10 a.m., with registration for spring semester classes beginning at that time. Elon University School of Law will open at 3 p.m. Read this note for details...

Elon student-athletes lead SoCon Academic All-Conference team

With 39 selections, the Elon Phoenix led the way on the Southern Conference's 2009 fall Academic All-Conference team. The honorees included eight members of the women's soccer team, seven members each from the women's cross country, volleyball and men's soccer teams, and five members each from the football and men's cross country teams.

2010 Football schedule includes adjusted Family Weekend dates

Elon athletics has announced its 2010 Phoenix football schedule, which includes a change of date in the annual Family Weekend. Elon will open the season at Duke University Sept. 4, with the home opener scheduled for Sept. 11 vs. Shaw University. The Family Weekend game will be Oct. 2, with Homecoming set for Oct. 23.

Elon Life Trustee Robert LaRose dies

Robert E. LaRose, a 1966 Elon graduate and former chair of the board of trustees, died Jan. 11. LaRose was a successful entrepreneur from Clifton, Va., who was a loyal and generous Elon supporter and played an important role in the university's development.

Elon books headed to University of Ghana library

About 2,500 books donated by Elon students faculty and staff are headed to the library at the University of Ghana. The book drive was coordinated by Brian Digre, professor of history and leader of Elon's Ghana Winter Term program.
