Lumen Scholar studies jazz improvisation & learning a language

Elon University senior Kaitlyn Fay wanted to find out how, and her undergraduate research is the first to be featured this year in a series of E-net profiles on Lumen Scholars in the Class of 2011.

A New York-based nonprofit has awarded a $200,000 grant to Elon University and Wofford College for a joint project to assist departments at both schools in better measuring how students learn and to help assess efforts by both institutions to strengthen diversity and global engagement.

As a student with more interests than she could count, Elon University senior Meredith Naughton found that simply having someone to consult about the future made her job hunt easier. She’s now headed to Hawaii to begin work with struggling teens – and she gives much of the credit to Career Services.
