Moran Stela Yanai was abducted from the Nova Music Festival on Oct. 7, and spent nearly two months in captivity. She will address the Elon community on Oct. 28.

An Oct. 10 awards ceremony hosted by Elon College, the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, recognized the professional achievements of three distinguished university graduates.

Assistant Professor Francisco "Paco" Chen-López brought fresh perspectives on Latin American identity during his visit to Elon University. Through his keynote address and classroom visits, he revealed how Chinese migration has impacted Latin American history and culture.

Through the membership, students volunteer at least three times per semester and participate in the Institutes for Civic and Community Engagement, monthly gatherings designed to deepen understanding of local needs and build leadership skills.

Four Elon alumnae joined a virtual panel hosted by the SPDC to share candid insights inspiration, and advice with psychology students about navigating careers and graduate school after Elon.

The co-edited project includes contributions from 13 authors on changing practices in India and beyond. Amy Allocco also contributed a chapter to the collection and co-authored the book’s Introduction.

The Dean George R. Johnson Scholarship recognizes excellence, intellect, and integrity, exemplified by inaugural recipient Karrington Wallace L’25, a first-generation law student planning a career in civil rights law.
