The Elon University graduate and his Yankees Productions colleagues earned a 2018 New York Emmy Award for their opening day hype video titled “We Work.” 

“Drag Queen Storytime,” directed and produced by Emma Kopkowski ’20 and Tyler Litwin ’20, will be shown on Aug. 16 and 17 at The Carolina Theatre of Durham.

Kate Murphy ’15, a higher education reporter for The Cincinnati Enquirer, and her colleague spent nearly a year examining the many elements and perspectives surrounding the issue of sexual assault on college campuses. Their findings were published on Aug. 6 on the front page of USA Today and an extensive video series is available online at sextalk.usatoday.com.

The Elon alumna and rising junior collected four honors, including two first-place awards, in the national Michigan State University Design Contest for College Students.

The journalism major attended the 2018 National Association of Hispanic Journalists Conference in Miami, working in tandem with professional journalists and fellow Latinx students covering the four-day convention.

The associate dean in the School of Communications co-authored a chapter in the recently published book, “Public Interest Communication Critical Debates and Global Contexts.”

The animator for NBC Sports Group and avid soccer fan called his time abroad “a dream come true,” enjoying the globe’s most celebrated soccer tournament up close.

The Elon University senior presented his short film, “The Reach,” an adaptation of a Stephen King story, at a showcase for aspiring filmmakers at the 2018 Cannes International Film Festival in France.

The assistant professor of communications teamed with fellow Elon colleagues Mitch Herndon and Clay Stevenson, as well as recent iMedia graduate Trey Caldwell, to develop three public service announcements to promote the United Nations AIDS outreach program.

The two Elon University graduates and their colleagues were honored at the 60th National Capital Chesapeake Bay Emmy Awards ceremony held June 23 in Bethesda, Maryland.
