This semester's edition marks the 14th in the history of the Elon Journal, the nation’s first and only undergraduate research journal in communications.

Several School of Communications students and graduates were recognized during the Nov. 12 event held at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Fletcher Rowe ’19 and Alex Hale ’19 pitched marketing ideas to the public relations agency’s clients, attempting to solve real-life issues facing the organizations.

Four students and a staff member from the School of Communications provided video and social media coverage for the annual forum that brings together world leaders to discuss perspectives relating to food, health and prosperity. 

Eric Hernandez ’16, a cinema and television arts major, discusses the support he received and knowledge he gained while competing in the contest for up-and-coming filmmakers.

Faculty and staff members presented sessions and ran a sponsorship table at an Indianapolis, Indiana, convention that drew nearly 4,000 attendees.

Jessalynn Strauss, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, received one of four 2016-17 William R. Eadington Fellowships, which facilitate research into aspects of the gaming industry and the city of Las Vegas. 

Four School of Communications professors participated in the inaugural Broadcast Education Association event, including Associate Professor Vic Costello who served as a conference co-chair.

Lambda Pi Eta hosted an Oct. 27 gathering that included a faculty panel, question-and-answer session and student-to-student mentoring.

Fifty-six student media members are collaborating to provide real-time storylines, results and insights for the presidential, gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races.
