Spanish Associate Professor Mayte de Lama presented a paper titled "El principio del fin en 14 kilómetros y Retorno a Hansala: El cine Español como puente de acercamiento entre culturas" at the XI Congreso Internacional de Literatura Hispánica in Cusco, Perú, on March 7-9, 2012.

Neeraj Gupta, assistant professor of finance, has had a busy year on the research front. In the past few months, three of his academic research papers were published in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.

Gerald R. Knight, assistant professor of music, spent most of the week of March 19-25 participating in a historic conference at UNC Chapel Hill. The conference, Videmus@25, celebrated the contribution made to classical music by women, African Americans, and underrepresented composers.

Associate Professor of Fine Arts Shawn Tucker presented some of his research at the conference of the Humanities Education and Research Association March 7-10, 2012.

Randall Bowman, reference/instruction librarian, and Barbara Gordon, associate professor of English, made a presentation titled “Targeted, not Generic, Library Instruction for First Year Writers” at the Conference on College Composition and Communication in St. Louis on March 22, 2012.

Michael Rodriguez, assistant professor of marketing in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, presented a paper at the National Conference in Sales Management held March 13-18 in Indianapolis.

The spring 2012 edition of The Sewanee Review includes a short story, "In the Traces," by Ross Howell, adjunct professor of English. The magazine will be available mid-April. The Sewanee Review is America's oldest continuously published literary quarterly, now celebrating its 120th year.

Paula Weller, lecturer, and Linda Poulson, associate professor, both in the Department of Accounting in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, recently published a paper titled, “Sarbanes-Oxley and the Need for Audit Committee Independence: Contrary Evidence in the Textile Industry.”

Elon Law Professor David Levine recently presented scholarship that examines the intersection of intellectual property law, technology and the global economy at Suffolk University and Campbell University law schools.
