The Distinguished Service Award bestowed on Thompson recognizes the honor he brings to his profession, and his exemplary service to his state and professional association.

The popular program expanded to 32 cities and hit a record number for attendance in 2014.

The LIFE@ELON history book club meetings for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (Feb. 11-13) are cancelled.  Meetings are rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 17, at 3:30 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 20, at 10:30 a.m.

For many, attending the Super Bowl is a “bucket list” experience. So is getting to witness an Olympic Games in person. Doing both within the span of a few days? That’s the stuff of dreams – and it’s just what Elon alumna Angie Lovelace Walton ’10 is doing through her job at USA TODAY.

Elon continues its 125th anniversary video series with a profile of President Emeritus J. Fred Young, who led the college from 1973 to 1998. 

Elon’s Office of Alumni Engagement is seeking input from Elon graduates about the university’s alumni programming and services with a brief survey, which will be posted until Feb. 7.

Leslie P. Lasher L'09, Andrew Nettleman L'09, Stephen Shaw L'10 and Ryan H. Stewart L'09 have been selected as 2014 Rising Stars by Super Lawyers rating service, a recognition earned by no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys 40 or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.

The film will be screened at the biggest festival of its kind in Amsterdam.

Connections made as students later turned into career opportunities for Colleen Callahan ’09 G’10, Tim Johnson ’09 and Will Anderson ’13.
