Elon is featured on the annual list of U.S. doctoral institutions whose graduates were offered Fulbright student awards for 2020-21.

The award recognizes the partnership between the club and Elon, which stretches back at least three decades and has expanded and evolved to include volunteerism, academic service-learning courses, internship and practicum placements, research, fundraising and advocacy.

Angela Myers '21 and Julia Kocsis '21 will present their Writing Center-related research at the Southeastern Writing Centers Association.

Carter Jenkins ’21, under the mentorship of Professor of Psychology Amy Overman, is studying the differences in brain activity patterns in healthy older adults, adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment and adults with Alzheimer’s Disease, as a part of her Lumen Prize research.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers research, study and teaching opportunities to recent graduates in more than 140 countries, with approximately 1,900 grants awarded annually in all fields of study.

The funding will support Alamance Youth Connected, which is funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Bowers, a first-year entrepreneurship major, is the CEO of his own nonprofit and has created a platform for teenagers to connect with trained mental health mentors. 

The associate dean in the School of Communications is one of two new members of The Plank Center’s Board of Advisors, providing leadership for the organization dedicated to supporting the practice of ethical and responsible public relations.

The university’s communications efforts in 2020 were recognized for excellence by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
