Elon was a partner in the conference, which focused on learning about and lifting the souls of black and brown women and girls. The event was held at Shaw University in partnership with the Raleigh/Apex chapter of the NAACP. 

Michael Carignan, associate professor of History, has been named the Center for Engaged Learning Senior Scholar for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The grant was awarded through the "Combating Opioid Overdose through Community-Level Intervention" (COOCLI) program of the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy to evaluate harm reduction services in rural areas of North Carolina.

Cassie is recognized for her impressive contributions as a systems administrator and dedicated member of Elon’s Information Technology team.

The ranking comes from Poets & Quants, a business education news outlet that released its survey results on Dec. 13. 

The assistant professor of religious studies will use the support from the National Endowment for the Humanities fellowship to support her work on a book manuscript. 

Elon is one of five institutions competing in the contest’s Outstanding Education Program category.

The assistant professor of English received a $1,000 grant from the national association

Phillip Motley, associate professor of communications, was selected as the 2019-21 CEL Scholar to support his exploration of immersive learning as a high-impact practice.

 

The School of Communications dean was one of “six inspiring leaders of communications” honored at a Dec. 3 ceremony at the Grand Hyatt New York.
