Paula Patch, senior lecturer in English and coordinator of the College Writing program at Elon, has been elected to a three-year term on the executive board of the Council of Writing Program administrators, a national association of faculty with professional responsibilities for directing writing programs. 

Dr. Carol Smith, Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance receives Honor Award for her meritorius contributions to the fields of physical education, health education, recreation and dance.

Elaine Durr, director of sustainability, has earned the Certified Sustainability Professional designation through the International Society of Sustainability Professionals (ISSP-CSP).

Associate Professor Ben Evans has received funding from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center for equipment which will facilitate his research in magnetic hyperthermia therapeutics.

The Acorn Accolade Technology Award of Excellence recognizes one I&CT employee each month for exemplary work.

During the annual NCAAHPERD-SM Convention, sport and event management majors Taylor Barclay ’15 and Kelly Siewers ’17 received undergraduate scholarships, Sophie Kane ’17 captured first place in the video resume competition, and a team of five students competed in a case challenge provided by the Atlantic Coast Conference.
