Gerald O. Whittington, the senior vice president emeritus who played a pivotal role in the growth of Elon University’s physical campus and national reputation over three decades of service, received the institution’s highest tribute during an Elon Day celebration featuring the dedication of a residence hall in his honor.

The associate professor and alum of Elon’s Department of Physical Therapy Education received the award at the 2025 American Physical Therapy Association Combined Meeting.

Margaret Dudley, supervising attorney of the university’s Emergency Legal Services Program in the Family Justice Centers of Guilford and Alamance counties, was among the honorees in a Raleigh leadership awards ceremony hosted by the legal news organization.

Jonathan A. McElderry, dean of student inclusive excellence at Elon University, has officially begun his term as the 86th president of ACPA – College Student Educators International. In his opening address, he outlined his vision, emphasizing mentorship, representation and advocacy.

Associate Professor of Chemistry Vickie Moore is among a small cohort of faculty from teaching-focused undergraduate institutions to be named an American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Fellow, and an even smaller number of Fellows at the associate professor level.

The Department of Physical Therapy Education once again made its presence felt at the prestigious American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting in February 2025 in Houston with 12 presentations.

The Lumen Prize-winning junior has twice published essays about her research in Albinism Insight, the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation's quarterly journal, after funding allowed her to travel to its national conference last summer.
