Faculty garner awards for Excellence in Mentoring, Service-Leadership, Teaching and Scholarship. Program and administrative assistants were recognized for hard work during COVID.

The professorships, announced during the university's Opening Day for the new academic year, support members of the faculty from a variety of disciplines across the university.

Elon faculty and staff will participate in a full week of activities, gatherings and workshops as Elon kicks off the 2021-22 academic year on Monday, Aug. 16, at Opening Day.

Since women's sports gained varsity recognition in 1971, Elon has claimed more than 30 regular season or tournament championships, as well as earning 13 national postseason appearances.

The award supports the "MOve Virtually with Elon (MO.V.E.) Program for Individuals with Parkinson's Disease" project.

Associate Professor Ben Hannam, Elon graduate Rachel Cifarelli ’21, and current students Catherine Nester ’22 and Grayson Meadors ’22 were recognized in more than a dozen competition categories.

The student organization was recognized for its activities during the 2020-21 academic year.

All 17 Elon Phoenix teams were represented on the honor roll, which includes student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average during the semester or a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Associate Professor Vickie Moore is co-principal investigator on a five-year National Science Foundation grant of nearly $500,000 that supports training faculty in assessment of undergraduate learning in biochemistry and molecular biology, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and creating a community of practice.

Assistant Professor Tiffany Atkins L’11 received the Outstanding Service Award from the Association of Legal Writing Directors for her work co-chairing the group’s Biennial Leadership Academy Subcommittee.
