From September to October, Welcome to the City events will be held for alumni across the nation to connect with their local Elon networks

University Chaplain Rev. Kirstin Boswell, who joined Elon earlier this summer, was the first speaker of the weekly inspirational series which will explore the theme of dreaming for the 2021-22 academic year.

The university shared with those registered for the celebration new details about when and where events will take place as well as policy changes impacting the weekend.

Members of the sophomore class gathered at Rhodes Stadium Monday night for a special celebration in recognition of their less-than-ideal start at Elon last year.

The special event is planned for members of the Class of 2024, which due to the pandemic were not able to enjoy the traditional welcome to campus most first-year students receive.

The Elon University community welcomed the 1,600 students from the Class of 2025 and nearly 80 transfer students with open arms as these newest Elon students moved into their new homes.

Faculty and staff gathered Monday to celebrate the accomplishments of three professors named to endowed professorships and to hear remarks from President Connie Ledoux Book.

Elon faculty and staff will participate in a full week of activities, gatherings and workshops as Elon kicks off the 2021-22 academic year on Monday, Aug. 16, at Opening Day.

Since women's sports gained varsity recognition in 1971, Elon has claimed more than 30 regular season or tournament championships, as well as earning 13 national postseason appearances.

The James P. Elder Lecture series was first endowed by former students of the popular professor and mentor who has now ensured that the series named for him will endure for future generations.
