In their new study, Assistant Professors Sana Haq and Jane O’Boyle examined thousands of posts to understand the contents of international Twitter comments and photos, comparing materials from six different countries.

“Waiting in the Midfield” highlights the life of Omar Alhamwi, a Syrian refugee and former professional soccer player, as he makes a new life for himself in Greensboro. The film will air on Wednesday, May 29, at 9 p.m., with replays the following day.

Before the U.S. Supreme Court upheld part of an Indiana law regarding abortion, Professor Tom Molony published in the Florida Law Review that previous court rulings "leave states with a great deal of latitude to regulate abortion in a manner aimed at protecting potential life."

Department of Physical Therapy Education faculty members Bill Andrews, Srikant Vallabhajosula and Crystal Ramsey have received notification of acceptance of a research study entitled Reliability and Normative Values of the Wheelchair Propulsion Test: A Preliminary Investigation. Co-authors include Meredith Smith and Meredith Holder Lane, both of whom are Elon DPT graduates of the Class of 2017. 

School of Education faculty members Katie Baker, Mark Enfield, Heidi Hollingsworth and Mary Knight-McKenna were recognized on May 21 for faculty excellence at the annual school awards banquet. In addition, staff member Jennifer Fish was recognized for her promotion to associate director of Teaching Fellows.
