Service opportunities, gatherings and other special programs at Elon during January will commemorate the life and work of the late civil rights leader. 

Professor Henry Gabriel will continue his service to an intergovernmental organization based in Rome that aims to modernize and coordinate international commercial law.

Stephanie Ntim ‘19 is among the recipients of the Lumen Prize, which provides selected students with a scholarship and celebrates their academic and creative accomplishments.

This semester’s edition marks the 18th in the history of the Elon Journal and the first under the editorship of Professor Harlen Makemson.

Elon was a partner in the conference, which focused on learning about and lifting the souls of black and brown women and girls. The event was held at Shaw University in partnership with the Raleigh/Apex chapter of the NAACP. 

Michael Carignan, associate professor of History, has been named the Center for Engaged Learning Senior Scholar for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Elijah Junior "Buddy" Evans held various positions during his 31 years on campus and returned to Elon following his retirement to work part-time driving the Danieley Center tram. 

An article by Isaac, associate professor of English, was published in Children's Literature in Education.

"Efficacy of Misoprostol Alone for First-Trimester Medical Abortion: A Systematic Review" was electronically published ahead of print on Dec. 4, 2018, in the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology.

"Challenging Audiences to Listen: The Performance of Self-Disclosure in Community Writing Projects” by Assistant Professor of English Heather Lindenman and Justin Lohr of the University of Maryland was published in the Fall 2018 issue of the Community Literacy Journal.
