The grant will allow the associate professor of education to work with two Elon professors on finding strategies that are helpful, culturally relevant and easy for families to use to foster their infant's language development.

The reception will be held Aug. 23.

The Black Faculty and Staff reception seeks to welcome new employees and reconnect with current colleagues within the Elon University community. 

All faculty and staff who self-identify as Asian, Asian-American, or whose research, teaching, or personal experience significantly engages with South, Southeast or East Asia, are invited.

This meeting is required for any faculty member who will be mentoring an Honors Fellow for the first time, and is encouraged for all Honors mentors. 

Faculty and staff from the campus programs and resources listed in this article will be available to talk about their programs/offices and the opportunities/support they provide. 

The conference hosted July 24-25 by Elon University's Center for Engaged Learning featured keynote addresses from George Kuh and W. Brad Johnson and ongoing collaborative research from 26 institutions.

New faculty will meet with the president, the provost and experienced Elon faculty to learn more about teaching and thriving at Elon and to prepare for the start of the academic year.
