The journalism major and Fred Clasen-Kelly investigated why Mecklenburg County, which has one of the highest HIV infection rates in the nation, did not offer an available drug that could stop the spread of the virus.

Sarah Oberman, an accounting and finance major from Sewell, New Jersey, is just one of the many students and alumni who used the Student Professional Development Center to find job and internship opportunities, help with graduate school placements, prepare for interviews and improve applications. 

The Office of Cultural and Special Programs is communicating the following information to seniors, President's List and Dean's List honorees planning to process at Spring Convocation at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 4.

An April 1 dinner and ceremony included an address by Paula Stephan, a professor of economics at Georgia Southern University who is a Phi Beta Kappa visiting scholar. 

The winners will be recognized during a reception in the Center for Writing Excellence in Belk Library on April 11 from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.

Members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon North Carolina Mu chapter gathered for a five-hour event to explore the true meaning of virtue, diligence and brotherly love.

The honor follows men's basketball senior Tyler Seibring's selection as a three-time Academic All-American. 

Kristen O'Neill's research titled, "Reading to Succeed: An examination of Interests and Motivations of Struggling Pre-Adolescent Readers," has been presented twice at the North Carolina Reading Association Conference, SURE at Elon, and most notably, at the Hawaii International Conference on Education.

Held in the Student Professional Development Center Moseley 140,  4:15 to 5:15 p.m.

A professor of economics at Georgia State University and a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, Stephan will speak at 5 p.m. in LaRose Digital Theatre in the Koury Business Center through the Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Program.
