An annual ceremony in front of West residence hall offered top Elon University administrators, faculty members and student leaders an opportunity to impart words of wisdom to freshmen starting their collegiate studies.

The first College Coffee of the university's quasquicentennial year brought students, faculty and staff together over donuts and "Phoenix blend" coffee on the first day of the fall semester.

Privilege.  Identity.  Social Justice.  The journey begins with you.  Through interactive activities and focused discussions, participants will learn how their identities influence all they do and how to use this knowledge to become agents of change on campus and in our world. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!” This event is free for all students, faculty, and staff and is part of the New Student Orientation activities this week.

Orphaned at a young age, Nosipho Shangase found mentors and teachers at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls, and she brings with her to Elon University this fall the leadership skills she developed at one of South Africa’s top schools.

Elon Jazz Ensemble Auditions will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 12:30 - 2 p.m. Open to all Elon students.

To celebrate Elon's history, the university is issuing a set of 25 commemorative cards, distributed weekly at College Coffee.
