Elon earns a long list of top honors in the 2012 “America’s Best Colleges” rankings by U.S.News & World Report.

For the ninth year in a row, Elon is ranked among the nation's 376 top colleges and universities by The Princeton Review. The 2012 college guide, released Aug. 1, also ranks Elon’s study abroad program as #4 in the nation, and Elon’s theater program as #15.

With about 1,425 first-year students, Elon’s Class of 2015 is the largest, most qualified and most diverse in the university’s history.

The Class of 2015 gathered together for the first time “Under the Oaks” in front of the West residence hall on Aug. 26 as Elon University administrators, faculty and student leaders welcomed them to the start of their academic journeys during New Student Convocation.

Elon faculty, staff and students have donated hundreds of school supplies that will benefit children in Alamance County and in Afghanistan.

A $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation will bolster the number of math and science teachers Elon University graduates in the years ahead through a partnership with the Alamance-Burlington School System.

Towing their suitcases and luggage trunks, their televisions and their refrigerators, more than 1,400 students in the Class of 2015 arrived at Elon University on Friday morning under a sweltering summer sun with humidity blanketing the region.

Elon University’s sales program in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business has been named a “Top University Sales Program for 2011” by the Sales Education Foundation, a component of The Dayton Foundation nonprofit established to promote university level educational programs in sales through the provision of scholarships, the creation of educational materials and other methods.

Elon University seniors Meg Anderson and Charley Costa won top honors last weekend at the 2010 Russ Berrie Institute National Sales Challenge at William Paterson University in New Jersey. Their achievements marked the second time in a month that students from the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business finished first in a national competition that attracted teams from some of the nation's leading business programs.
