Parents Neil and Jennifer Wizel P’28 are among the latest donors to make generous gifts to Elon's new home for health and wellness that will serve all students, faculty and staff.

The first Discovering Dyslexia Session will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. in Johnston Hall on Elon University’s campus.

Through a once-in-a-generation investment in North Carolina education by Marjorie and Hal Roberts, the new academy - set to open in Fall 2026 - will be the state's only university-based private school for children with dyslexia.

Assistant Professor Alicia Tate will guide the launch and initial development of the academy, drawing on more than 30 years of experience as a teacher, instructional coach, district administrator, and consultant.

Alumni, parents, friends and prospective students with their families are invited to join us for an Evening for Elon in Nashville Dec. 4 at The Hermitage Hotel.

Elon’s “deep sense of commitment” to student success inspired Trustee Debra Del Vecchio P’22 P’24 to generously contribute to the center that will integrate academics, wellness, campus recreation and fitness programs to ensure students gain the skills they need to thrive on campus and beyond.

The gift from Ilene and Andy Cantos P’25 will strengthen Jewish Life on campus by providing valuable funding for internships, student scholarships, facilities and programs.

The EAB has selected five new members to serve three-year terms — Whitney Butcher ’09 L’12, Stephen Dahlem ’07, Kristyn Green ’95 P’29, Scott Rehnert ’12 and Peter Walpole ’15.

Guided by Elon University Senior Vice President Jim Piatt and Queens University President Emerita Pamela Davies, key administrators from both universities will convene weekly in October to identify options that build community, support students, and honor the histories of both campuses in the lead-up to an official merger.
