American Studies

The American Studies Program has partnered with Sigma Phi Epsilon to hold a group "Read-In" on April 5.

David Turner will be presenting his Elon College Fellows undergraduate research, at Trollinger House that examines the imagery of Atlanta Hip-Hop. 

The associate professor of English and coordinator of the university's African & African-American Studies program proposed, organized, chaired and presented research in Black female resistance with Elon University senior strategic communications major Raven Bennett.

Students encouraged to participate in 2014 Carret Essay Contest

Associate Professor Crystal Anderson's first book, “Beyond The Chinese Connection: Contemporary Afro-Asian Cultural Production,” was published this summer.

Students in the class of 2017 may apply for open Study USA programs by visiting the Study USA website  

William Chafe, a retired distinguished Duke University professor of history, visits Elon University as part of the Liberal Arts Forum.

The theme of the 2013 Carret Essay Competition is "Thomas Jefferson, the West, and American Individualism." The top prize is $1,000.
