The Center for Engaged Learning invites applications for a research seminar on Residential Learning Communities.

The annual conference, which is a scholarly venue to disseminate new knowledge on service-learning and community engagement, was held Sept. 26-28 in New Orleans.

The book features work from the Center for Engaged Learning’s two year, multi-institutional research seminar on writing transfer with over 40 participating faculty.

Elon University President Leo M. Lambert and Professor Peter Felten, assistant provost for teaching and learning and executive director of the Center for Engaged Learning, write about what students can do to ensure a transformative undergraduate experience. 

Several Elon faculty participated in the 2016 Council of Writing Program Administrators conference in July.

The conference hosted July 24-25 by Elon University's Center for Engaged Learning featured keynote addresses from George Kuh and W. Brad Johnson and ongoing collaborative research from 26 institutions. 

Five higher ed leaders with ties to Elon University have collaborated to write about best practices in colleges and universities.

Paula Rosinski, director of Writing Across the University, and Jessie Moore, associate director of the Center for Engaged Learning, introduce how Elon's Writing Excellence Initiative plans to enhance the teaching and learning of writing across the disciplines.
