The annual Spring Undergraduate Research Forum on April 27, 2010, promoted and celebrated work from more than 100 students who made presentations about their scholarship in disciplines as diverse as psychology, exercise science, chemistry, public relations and economics.

Nineteen School of Communications students were among the many student researchers who presented their work at Elon University's selective Student Undergraduate Research Forum April 27.

A fundraiser to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington and the Multiple Sclerosis Society caught the attention of local media over the weekend, with the Times-News in Burlington and WFMY News 2 in Greensboro covering the event organized by students in a Leisure and Sport Management course.

Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, presented a session at a workshop for Korean heritage school teachers April 23 at Duke University.

Power is shifting in the new media world and successful practitioners must meet their audience in the arenas in which those users communicate. Five panelists reflected on this topic and other issues related to the culture of the digital workplace in a Thursday afternoon discussion sponsored by the Interactive Media program.

Faculty, students and alumni from the School of Communications were honored by the Broadcast Education Association's Festival of Media Arts in several awards categories at the annual conference from April 15-17 in Las Vegas.

World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee and Vint Cerf, widely known as a "father of the Internet" and Google's Chief Internet Evangelist, will be among the more than 60 speakers leading more than 20 different events at the three-day FutureWeb conference in Raleigh, N.C., April 28-30. The event is being organized by the Imagining the Internet Center of Elon's School of Communications, and will involve more than 40 Elon students, faculty and staff.

Metacarpus, a film by School of Communications instructor Nicole Triche, will be a part of the Celebration of North Carolina Arts at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, N.C., April 24.

Communications assistant professors Phillip Motley and Sang Nam were selected as National CASTL (Carnegie Academy of Teaching and Learning) Teaching Scholars and will present their research at the 2010 National CASTL Institute at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., this summer.

Several students in the School of Communications presented their research at the 2010 National Conferences on Undergraduate Research April 15-17 at the University of Montana.
