Students from the Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies and Physical Therapy programs within the school received their diplomas Friday, Dec. 9, during a commencement ceremony in Alumni Gym.

Sponsored by the Division of Inclusive Excellence in collaboration with the Gender and LGBTQIA Center, the event offers an opportunity to celebrate graduate and professional students completing their programs in December.

Students from the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Physician Assistant Studies and Nursing programs shared their research during the annual forum at McKinnon Hall inside Moseley Center on Tuesday.

Fourteen students in the ABSN Class of 2022 were pinned ahead of their commencement on Friday, Dec. 9 and 14 in the Class of 2023 received their white coats before their clinical practices during a joint ceremony in the McBride Gathering Space.

The first class of Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) students graduate next week from Elon. The faculty in the nursing department wanted to send them off in style and so they created an Oscar-themed escape room as a summative evaluation tool.

Elizabeth Van Horn presented her research on the evaluation of competence in new graduate nurses at the 2022 National League for Nursing Education Summit in Las Vegas.

Bill Andrews and Srikant Vallabhajosula in the Department of Physical Therapy Education, Sarah Boise '20, and a colleague from the University of Connecticut, have been notified that their research article has been accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Physiotherapy.

The White Coat Ceremony celebrated the Elon Master of Physician Assistant Studies Class of 2023, which will now transition to clinical training.
