The Department of Physical Therapy Education kicked off the graduation celebration for its Doctor of Physical Therapy students in their final year with a Graduation Celebration and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
The Department of Physical Therapy Education recognized and celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2022 with awards in various categories while also reflecting on the journey taken by the students, staff and faculty in the past three years at a Graduation Celebration and Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
The graduating class was especially praised for the flexibility and perseverance shown in their first year when COVID-19 pandemic began and alternate plans for teaching had to be put in place.
Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education Crystal Ramsey, who was invited by the class to be the guest speaker, spoke on the importance of kindness and its impact as a future professional. Several members of the graduating class were also recognized for their excellent service to the Health Outreach Program of Elon (HOPE) Clinic that offers physical therapy services free of charge to those who are uninsured or under-insured in Alamance County and surrounding areas. The HOPE Clinic is a student-run pro bono clinic that is managed and operated by Elon doctor of physical therapy students.
