Three Elon faculty members affiliated with the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning presented at the 42nd annual conference of the POD Network in Higher Education held Oct 26-29 in Montreal, Canada

History and Geography faculty are eager to greet our alums and hope you will come by for some food, cold beverages and good conversation.

Historian Philipp Lenhard from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich will visit Elon and share his research about the German-born American philosopher's life and friendships in the twentieth century. 

Faculty members will attend the keynote lecture by Professor Cheryl Lynn of Trinity College. 

Charles Irons, professor of history, was recently cited in an article about the Confederate statue debate that ran in more than 30 media outlets, and he participated in a panel discussion about local race relations that generated media coverage. 

Elon President Leo M. Lambert presented the medallion to five retired faculty and staff members for their meritorious service to the university during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized four endowed professorships and two longtime professors were named Distinguished University Professors. 

Harel, a professor emeritus at Cleveland State University, inspires audience at Elon University.

The professor of history is a nationally-known scholar whose work on American Indian cultures and histories has been hailed for its breadth and for its attention to community voices.

Ralph Mueller ’83, Michael Capps ’99 and Carly Ledbetter ’13 were honored with the 2017 Elon College Distinguished Alumni Awards during an April 27 ceremony.
