Pianist Carmen Staaf drummer Alison Miller will headline the festival's Elon Jazz Day Concert on Saturday, Feb. 22, and lead masterclasses.

“Slush Pump Truck Stop” was released Feb. 23 on SteepleChase Records.

The annual jazz festival includes workshops and clinics for middle and high school students, "jam session" opportunities for the community, and the free Jazz Festival Concert headlined by trumpeter Kris Johnson.

The world-class musicians of the Navy Band Commodores offered a clinic and concert for students and faculty in the Department of Music.

Professor of Music Thomas Erdmann had an article published in the professional trumpet journal.

A lecturer in music,  Novine Whittaker performed  as a member of the saxophone quartet Fourza that included Christine Hankins, Jason Saetta and Elon alumnus Brian Magna '15.

 

The performance by the ensemble, consisting of Elon students and alumni, was part of a 10-day tour.

The North Carolina Brass Band will present a program of Latin Music on Sept. 22 and 23.

Auditions will be held in the Center for the Arts, Room 164. 

The assistant dean of global education and associate professor of music and education was an invited panelist for jazz education.
